quiltsThe Magic City Piece Makers will be displaying quilts made or owned by members of their guild. Part of the display will include mystery quilts made by several members. The blocks are the same but the choices of fabric and artistic license make each one very distinctive. To celebrate the sesquicentennial anniversary of Moberly and its historical part of the Civil War, members of the guild made Civil War era blocks with reproduction fabrics. The public will be given an opportunity to win the quilt with the proceeds going to The Friends of the Library, a non-profit organization of the Moberly branch of the Little Dixie Regional Library. Tickets for the opportunity quilt will be available through the members of the guild or at the library. The quilt may be seen at the library this fall. Magic City Piece Makers is a quilt guild that has been meeting since 1992. They meet at Moberly’s Little Dixie Regional Library the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Their meetings consist of a time of show and tell and either work on projects or demonstrations by the members. Visitors are welcome.
